For the second of our monthly releases, we present OpenEdit DAM v5.1761.  As always, our development team has been working hard to improve OpenEdit.  Along with countless bug fixes and general improvements, this release features several new features:
 
1. We now have embedded media players to preview common video/audio file types.  While you could previously have video and audio type assets in the system, there was no way to view or listen to them online.  We also now have links to a streaming .asx file for media type assets.
2. We have a new powerful tool that provides a user interface to manage a vast array or properties and view settings within OpenEdit.  This means that you can now set up customized asset metadata fields and add them to the view for the details page or the editing page without having to edit any XML.  For more information on this, please see the documentation here.
3. For users that are integrating OpenEdit with Canto Cumulus, we now support the Vault!
4. Our search tools have been improved and are now able to search the full text of any PDF assets.
