OpenEdit Peer to Peer Network Ideas

Julie, Ian and I have been talking about creating a new flavor of OpenEdit for photographers. The thinking is to combine a peer to peer concept like Twitter with OpenEdit DAM. People can then easily upload photos or documents for their friends or co-workers.

Administrators can then use the OpenEdit Archive to search across all the images. Ian and I created mock-up's for the new easy to use peer to peer photographer front end. It would also support PDF and other upload formats.

Would like to deploy this solution to http://www.openeditdam.com to replace our existing blog. End user bug requests would then all go into the private issue tracker. Some considerations:

1. Need to create a home page for the site that shows what people are
on the site currently. Note it would only show their alias until you
click on their name.
2. Easy way to register for an account
3. Allow visitors to click on your name and see your home page and
your friends postings that you follow.
4. Invite a friend to follow you
5. Add a image details screen where people can comment on the image.
Note: that they are commenting on the image not commenting on the
posting
6. Allow images to be watermarked unless the user is authorized to
download. This keeps our images out of the google cache.
7. Voting and key wording of images. With some kind of top 10 images
gallery for photographers.
8. The user search results would be sortable by popularity and how
recently they have posted
9. We might import all the existing blog postings on openedit.org and
put them in the correct peer to peer locations
10. Create a bulk upload application? Java applet, web start or Flash.
11. Ability to post photos to OpenEdit from an iPhone. see:

Any other suggestions?
