Product Details Page
When you click on an asset from the Browse Categories or Advanced Search views, you will be taken to the Product Details page for that asset. The Product Details page provides many features that allow you to manage your digital assets. This document describes the functionality of the different features available on this page.

Preview
- For image and document type assets, this menu will provide a link to a larger preview version of the image. Depending on your permission settings, this may be a watermarked image.
- For video and audio type assets, there will be a link to preview the media through an embedded media player. Currently supported types for media previews include AVI, WMV, MOV, FLV, SWF, WAV, and MP3. Depending on your specific browser and operating system setup, you may have limited functionality for this feature.
- For video and audio type assets, there will also be a link to a streaming preview of the media. This preview is recommended for unix/linux users who may not be able to view the embedded media player. As above, the functionality of this is limited by your particular setup.
Downloads
This menu provides links to download this asset. Depending on your permissions and configuration, you may see some or all of the following options.
- Add To Basket +: This will add this asset to your current collection basket. (If this asset is already in your basket, the link will change to "Remove From Basket -".
- Download JPG (Thumbnail): This will download a thumbnail sized JPG version of the asset (150 pixels wide).
- Download JPG (Medium): This will download a medium sized JPG version of the asset (300 pixels wide).
- Download JPG (1024 Wide): This will download a JPG of the asset that is 1024 pixels wide.
- Download in PDF: This will download the asset converted into PDF format.
- Download Original: This will download the original asset.
Data
This menu gives you links to different pages of metadata associated with this asset. When you click on one of these links, that page of metadata will be displayed in the main window, to the right of these menus. For more information about metadata management, see the MetaData section below. The default values for this are:
- Details: This is a page of general metadata associated with this asset.
- Availability/Restrictions: This is a page of metadata describing any restrictions associated with the use of this image.
- Usage History: This will show you a record of the usage history information for this asset. This data is collected by OpenEdit from users that are downloading the asset.
Actions
- View Comments: This link will display the comments page for this asset. This is also where you would click if you wanted to leave a comment about this asset.
- Print Details: This will give you a printer-friendly page with all of the metadata associated with this asset.
- Send Notification: This will allow you to email the printer-friendly metadata page to any group of OpenEdit users. After clicking this link, select the groups who you wish to receieve the e-mail, and click "Add" for each, then click the "Send" button.
- Create Related Asset: This will create a new asset that is related to this asset. All metadata associated with this asset will be copied to the new asset.
- View Related Assets: This will display all of the assets that are related to this asset. From this page you will also be able to remove the relationship between the two assets.
- View Attachments: This will show you any files that have been attached to this asset. Depending on your permission level, you may also be able to upload new attachments to this asset.
- View Versions: Here you will be able to see the previous versions of this asset.
- Upload New Version: This link will allow you to upload a new version of this asset. This new version must have the same filename as the original asset, and will replace the current thumbnail. You can view all previous versions of an asset by using the "View Versions" link as described above.
Categories
This menu will list some of the categories that are associated with this asset. You can click on the categories to see all of the assets in that category.
Tags
This menu will list all of the tags that have been added to this asset. You can use the Edit Tags link to add or remove tags from this asset. You can also click on a tag to see other assets with the same tag.
MetaData
Each asset can have several pages of metadata associated with it. This is the data that will allow you to search for your assets using OpenEdit's search tools. When you first arrive at the Product Details page, or after you click on one of the links in the Data menu, you will see several blue boxes in the main area of the page, each with a different section of metadata displayed. Depending on your permissions, you may also see "Edit" or "Add New" links for each of these boxes. If you see these links, then you may edit that metadata by clicking that link.
After clicking the "Edit" link, you will see that instead of just displaying the metadata, you are now presented with editable fields where you can edit the metadata for this asset. Make any necessary edits, and click "Save Values" to save your changes. Using these features, you can manage all of the metadata for your assets without having to use any other administrative tools.
