Re: Module Order

Look for a file called:

/WEB-INF/data/media/catalogs/p ublic/lists/module/custom.xml - you can
probably edit that to adjust the order. We can add an ordering field to it
also, and then sort on that, if that doesn't work.

Module Order

Posted by mtmarctava...@gmail.com at 5/15/13 7:54 AM

Is there a way of changing the order of the modules and how they appear in
the drop down menu? The hierarchy isn't making complete sense for us so
we'd like to possibly change the order. Thank you!

Hi Christoper,

I'm Dzung, who work with Thong in the same team.

Honestly, we're serious with this issue.

We work in Television Industry and we're going to expand our business in
that.

We have just started the project subjected to use Entermedia as the main
tool in editing media's metadata.

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your response.
I've investigated exiftool before, and when read a structured XMP format,
exiftool will output like that:

Yes, MPEG-7 is very similar to XMP, but it's only a XML file which describe
an asset, not embed in asset like XMP.

Adding Video-URLs to EM

Posted by rlat...@gmail.com at 5/14/13 10:29 AM

Hi

I’m evaluating a software for creating a media archive (containing
pictures, videos, documents) for an NGO in India. Some of the videos are
already online on Youtube or on other platforms. Will it be possible to add
these videos to EM without uploading them again? My idea is that we can

Hello,

Yes that is a know situation. The system only checks once every few days
for returned files. You can override by editing your Hot Folder from
settings and removing the Modified File Check date and saving.

Hi Christopher,
I have also a question about deletion from HotFolder. In my case, when I
deleted some media files from my HotFolder, I cannot import them by the
same way on the HotFolder again.
so I have to access into ../public/assets/myHotFolder/ to delete the
folders generated previously importing the media files, then it could be

sftp should be working. Perhaps there is a firewall or user issue?

You might want to turn logs on by editing the
tomcat/conf/logging.properties file. .level = INFO, restart tomcat

Then monitor the tomcat/logs/catalina.out file while you are publishing.

It does not keep multiple copies.

1. For Hot Folders it leaves the Original where it found it.
2. For uploads it keeps the original in the
WEB-INF/data/media/catalogs/or iginals/users/admin/2013/xxx

Not sure what Public folder you are thinking about.

Hi Christopher,
I guess, after importing and converting a asset Emshare keeps assets on
three locations/Directories - 1. Originals, 2. Generated 3. Public, So
Emshare keeps original assets under Originals directory ( i have doubt when
i upload asset on hotfolder then it doesn't use originals directory to keep

You go to a particular Library and fill in the field called Hot Folder Path

You want to delete the originals after the import is complete?

Risky! What if you want to reconvert the original again?

What I would do is create a scheduled script. It would search for any
assets marked as importstatus: complete and then delete the original if I
found it. Then I would create a new status field to track if the original

Not sure I follow. You can either add libraries and divisions to the
Advanced search box or use the My Projects Box or create custom links on
your module.

See the My Projects box for an example of what the link looks like.
